An incremental encoder is a common position measuring cell used to measure the rotational or linear displacement of an object. It converts the rotational or linear motion of the input shaft into an electrical signal through an internal photoelectric conversion mechanism to achieve accurate measurement of position. A 17 bit incremental encoder is a high-precision incremental encoder with a resolution of 217 (i.e., 131,072) pulses/revolution that provides higher measurement accuracy.
